This is a guide to Australian Indigenous Art library and information resources for the postgraduate Art History program,
which has been developed jointly by the University of Adelaide and the Art Gallery of South Australia.

The Barr Smith Library holds a more than adequate collection of books, journals and reference tools on art, but for in-depth research it may be necessary to consult the libraries of Adelaide's other two universities, Flinders and University of South Australia (City West), both of which have very good art collections.
You can borrow from the other two university libraries by registering with your UofA card.
The State Library also often holds useful titles
All their catalogues can be consulted from here and reciprocal borrowing can be arranged.
Australia-wide locations for books can be searched using Libraries Australia (Trove)

The Library of the Art Gallery of South Australia should be consulted as a last resort
