Library Services for Year 11/12 Students: Public Access to the BSL

This guide provides information for access to the Barr Smith Library by year 11 and 12 school students.

Where are we?

The Barr Smith Library is centrally located on the University of Adelaide's North Terrace Campus.

Opening hours

Barr Smith Library opening hours vary throughout the year.

During the university semesters we are open from 8am to 10pm Monday -­ Thursday, 8am - 6pm on Fridays, and 10am - 5pm on weekends. Hours are reduced during the mid-semester, mid-year and summer breaks.

Public access to the Library

The University of Adelaide Library provides access to:

  • a broad range of print and electronic books and journals from many academic disciplines
  • extensive research and reference collections

All members of the public, including secondary students, are able to:

  • visit the library and use the collections
  • use the Library's website to locate material
  • download articles to USB
  • make copies or scan to USB using the photocopiers
  • use free resources which are included in our online Resource Guides

Most electronic resources are available on a walk-in basis to all members of the public.
