Library Services for Year 11/12 Students: Databases

This guide provides information for access to the Barr Smith Library by year 11 and 12 school students.

Access to online databases

Most of our electronic resources are available on a walk-in basis by coming into one of the University libraries and using a public access computer.

However year 12 students who register for borrowing will also have remote access to 2 full-text online databases:

  • SpringerLink
    Provides full text access to Springer's database of journals and book series in Science, Technology and Medicine. Subjects include: life sciences, chemical sciences, environmental sciences, geosciences, computer science, mathematics, medicine, physics & astronomy, engineering and economics.
  • e-Library
    Provides full text access to Australian newspapers, magazines, reference books, and other news media.

When accessing these databases remotely, you will be asked to authenticate - just add the library barcode number from your Library card as the username and your surname as the password.
