Using SAGE

SAGE covers a broad range of subject areas including business, humanities, social sciences, and science, technology, and medicine.

Reading:

  • You can read online by clicking the desired chapter/section heading. This will display the chapter in scroll format, but you have the option to show page numbers, for easier citation.
  • Text size can be altered as desired.

Searching:

  • You can search the platform from the search box at the top of the page.
  • You can search within the ebook by clicking to open a section, then typing your search term into the "Search this chapter" box.

Downloading and printing:

  • To download, click on desired chapter/section title, then select "Download" (next to book title and details).

  • SAGE allows printing by book chapter and encyclopedia / glossary entry:
  • It will not be the print ready PDF, it will be generated from the XML so as not to provide a direct replica of the print version
  • It will contain the name of the purchasing institution, a SAGE copyright message and the name of the platform on every page.
  • A user will be able to copy and paste text from the PDF.
  • It will include an indicator of where the print page falls to support referencing from the PDF

Highlighting, annotating, etc.:

  • This can be done using the "Comment" toolbar on your saved PDFs.
