This is a guide to Library services and information resources for PIRSA and SARDI staff.

Intercampus Service

Registered PIRSA/SARDI borrowers may request the delivery of books or journal articles required for the purposes of study and research from libraries located on other campuses of the University of Adelaide.

What may be requested:

  • Normal loan period books from the Main Collection
  • Scanned copies of journal articles and chapters of books

The following items are normally not available for loan:

  • Reserve Collection
  • Journal issues
  • Reference Collection
  • Special Collections

Requesting - Intercampus

Requesting a book: On-site personnel

  • Search for the item in the Library Search
  • Sign in, then click on the Requests link
  • Change the Pick up location to the Library where you would like to collect the book (Barr Smith, Waite, Roseworthy, etc.)
  • An email notice will be sent to you when the item is ready for collection

Requesting a book: Off-site personnel

  • Requests should be made on the electronic request form.
  • You must fill in a separate request form for each individual item
  • Username is your Library barcode
  • Password is your Family name or Last name

  • Select Book

  • Complete the details of the book required
  • Delivery Method: select Mail
  • Delivery Address: type your delivery address
  • Pickup Location: select Waite Library

  • We will send you a confirmation email copy of each request for your records
  • The book will be sent to you by DX courier where available, or Australia Post

Requesting a journal article: On-site personnel

  • Requests should be made on the electronic request form.
  • Select 'Article' under 'Add Request'
  • Journal articles will be emailed directly to you

Requesting a journal article: Off-site personnel

  • Requests should be made on the electronic request form.
  • Select "Article" under 'Add Request'
  • Journal articles will be emailed directly to you

Loans
= no charge 
Journal articles = no charge for scanned articles.

How long will it take?

Most requests are processed within the day of receipt at the Document Delivery Service. Turn around time varies according to the supplying library and availability but generally can be filled within 1-5 days.

What if there's a problem?

We will contact you by phone or email if there are any problems with your request or if the item cannot be sourced within the University of Adelaide Library.

Returning and Renewals

Returning items

Waite Campus and Roseworthy Campus borrowers may return intercampus loan items at any University of Adelaide Library.

Off-campus borrowers should securely wrap and address items to:

Renewing items

Loans will be automatically renewed up to to the maximum loan period unless items have been requested.

You will be required to return any item required by another borrower or if you have used the maximum number of renewals allowed.

Failure to renew or return items on time can result in an invoice for the cost of a replacement.
