Using Advanced Search

Most databases have a Basic and an Advanced Search option. Advanced Search automatically includes the AND for you, and you don't need to use brackets to separate the ORs from the ANDs.

The example below shows Advanced Search in Embase.

Notice the ANDs on the left. The drop down boxes let you choose where you would like the words to be searched. In the example below Embase will look for the words in titles, abstracts and author keywords.
