Attributing in Chicago Style
If you are reprinting or adapting third-party materials in your work (whether it be published or for a university assignment) such as images, figures, or tables, you need to include an attribution statement.
Various sections of the Chicago Manual of Style cover how to correctly attribute copyrighted material within your work.
In Chicago style, copyright attribution statements are provided within a credit line, usually appearing underneath the figure or image, or in an unnumbered footnote on the corresponding page. If the work being credited is listed in the bibliography or reference list, only a shortened form need appear in the credit line.
