This section of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Resources guide offers documents, information, and support programs focused on Cultural Safety and the University's commitment to cultural competency.
Led by Professor Steve Larkin, Pro Vice-Chancellor Indigenous Engagement and supported by Wirltu Yarlu, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander unit of the University of Adelaide, the new strategy is an evidence-based approach document that provides the opportunity for the whole University community to critically reflect upon its role and responsibility in ensuring First Nations access, participation, and success.
At Wirltu Yarlu, and from the University, we are fortunate to have the cultural guidance of Kaurna Elder, Uncle Rod O'Brien. To the university he brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and pride in his Aboriginal heritage and culture and a willingness to share, teach and grow.
Uncle Rod can advise on a range of Aboriginal matters and provide culturally appropriate support to all students and staff of the university.

Racism takes many forms and can happen in many places. It includes prejudice, discrimination or hatred directed at someone because of their colour, ethnicity or national origin. Led by the Australian Human Rights Commission, this resource links to information about the What You Say Matters and Racism It Stops With Me campaign.
Yarn Safe is the first youth led national Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mental health campaign. This website was launched in local communities across Australia with a range of material and merchandise distributed across headspace centres.
Is it ever OK to ask how someone how Aboriginal they are? Our students and staff answer anonymously submitted questions to confront myths and stereotypes about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
